Michael Talbot is Mackenzie’s Principal of Design -Workplace in our Portland, Vancouver, and Seattle offices. Michael brings nearly 20 years of diverse industry experience in workplace, healthcare, and public interest design. Several of his projects have been recognized with design awards, and featured in industry publications. He roots his approach in human-centered design, and embraces a participatory model that offers stakeholders deep engagement in the design process.
Michael spearheads Mackenzie’s Workplace Design Lab, a synergistic, interdisciplinary team of interior designers, architects, sustainability strategists, graphic designers, brand strategists, and landscape architects. The Lab is devoted to the exploration of shifting paradigms in the workplace, and innovation in workplace design. In addition to his work with the lab, Michael also leads design efforts in many of our creative office and building repositioning projects.
Prior to joining Mackenzie, Michael was design director for two social sustainability design organizations in Chicago, at which he investigated how design and design thinking can support individual wellbeing and engagement within community organizations.
